Shift Manager - Omaha Dog Bar

You are responsible for ensuring operations are exceptional during your shift. You are dedicated to providing an extraordinary guest experience. You make sure quality, service, facility appearance, and cleanliness standards are second to none. You are motivated by customer satisfaction and profitability. To be successful as the Shift Manager at ODB, you should have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly organized, and be able to multi-task extremely well. You must be able to delegate duties to the staff while making sure they are equipped to be successful in their assigned positions.

to provide an inviting, clean, and happy community for dogs and their people. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the staff and help facilitate daily operations 

  • Maintain member and customer-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience - make sure their experience is second to none! Always be thinking of ways to improve the guest experience.

  • You will be trained in all positions (Bark Ranger/Barktender/Front Desk) and may need to fill in for those roles if employees are sick, hours are adjusted, etc

  • Maintain knowledge of current company policies and facility procedures 

  • Always make sure the facility is clean, pristine, and presentable

  • Assist in organizing and implementing events throughout the year

  • Assist with managing inventory

  • Assist with Social Media and post stories during your shift, highlighting our amazing furry customers

  • Side Projects throughout the week

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in bar/restaurant/pet industry preferred

  • Passion for the industry and the communities we operate in

  • Proven creative with outside-the-box ideas that customers love to build profitability

  • Proven track record of leading a team well

  • Ability to work nights and weekends. Your schedule will mostly consist of nights and weekends - but we close at 9PM (so it’s not a super late night!)

Personal Qualifications:

  • Must love dogs, duh!

  • Must be 19+ years of age

  • Must be friendly and inviting and exhibit professionalism and positivity

  • Must have a spirit of entrepreneurship - goes above and beyond

  • Must have leadership skills and promote progressive thinking and problem-solving.

  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure the best work environment

  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of duties

  • Must be able to handle conflict gracefully and communicate well to customers

Accountabilities:

  • Keeps the managers promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action

  • Keeps the managers promptly and fully informed of all issues regarding staff

  • Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner

  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with the staff to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

The Shift Manager reports to the General Manager
